Etymology[edit]
Form of the infix -ez-; probably from a Vulgar Latin *-idiās or *-izās, conjugated forms of *-idiō, *-izō, ultimately from Ancient Greek -ίζειν (-ízein), used in Romanian conjugated forms of verbs. See -ez.
