Form of the infix -ez- from a Vulgar Latin suffix *-idiāre or *-izāre, ultimately from Ancient Greek -ίζειν (-izein), used in Romanian conjugated forms of verbs. See -ez.

- used with a stem to form the second-person singular present of some -a (first conjugation) verbs. E.g. lucrezi from lucra, durezi from dura, frânezi from frâna, vânezi from vâna.
