From Ancient Greek Εἰρήνη (Eirḗnē, literally Peace).

  1. (Greek mythology) The goddess/personification of peace and one of the Horae. She is a daughter of Zeus and Themis, and her sisters are Dike and Eunomia. Her Roman counterpart is Pax.
