Japanese entry[edit]
@Eirikr, suzukaze-c: Shouldn't the Japanese entry be at the shinjitai form? —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 23:19, 27 July 2018 (UTC)
- Hmm, this is listed at the JA WT (ja:鶯) as "extended shinjitai", and all my dictionaries to hand use the 鶯 form. Even the MS IME seems to prefer the kyūjitai, although the shinjitai does appear further down the list of candidates.
- @suzukaze-c, TAKASUGI Shinji, any insights? ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 00:32, 28 July 2018 (UTC)
- As Japanese Wiktionary states, 鶯 is the official form and 鴬 is an unofficial simplified form. See an article by Sanseido. — TAKASUGI Shinji (talk) 02:09, 28 July 2018 (UTC)
- Maybe not. cf. 篭 —Suzukaze-c◇◇ 03:53, 28 July 2018 (UTC)
