- Entry layout (EL) is a detailed policy on Wiktionary's page formatting; all entries must conform to it. The easiest way to start off is to copy the contents of an existing same-language entry, and then adapt it to fit the entry you are creating.
- Check out Language considerations to find out more about how to edit for a particular language.
- Our Criteria for Inclusion (CFI) defines exactly which words can be added to Wiktionary; the most important part is that Wiktionary only accepts words that have been in somewhat widespread use over the course of at least a year, and citations that demonstrate usage can be asked for when there is doubt.
- If you already have some experience with editing our sister project Wikipedia, then you may find our guide for Wikipedia users useful.
- If you have any questions, bring them to Wiktionary:Information desk or ask me on my talk page.

Aircraft

I only just saw your comment on sexfid (supposedly meaning "split into six"?) because I happened to look at your contribution history; if you want to get someone's attention, the best way is to leave a message on their talk page. About the aircraft names you are adding: these may not be suitable material for a dictionary, because they are something like specific "brand names" rather than generic words. See WT:CFI#Brand_names. - I've now flagged them for deletion. Again, I know they are real aircraft and you added them in good faith, but this is a dictionary, not an encyclopaedia. You can find the deletion discussion here: WT:RFD#Messerschmitt_109.2C_Focke-Wulf_190 Equinox 00:04, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
Might be worth having. I did a prefix search and we already have field of force, field of honor, field of study, field of view. The last two are sort of obvious from their parts, but in a way they're set phrases as well. So... I wouldn't exactly object to this one, personally. You could take it to the WT:Tea_room if you want to get a few opinions, or just add it and see whether anyone dislikes it enough to RFD. Equinox 20:51, 22 January 2009 (UTC)
