Etymology[edit]

Northern Khanty is a Ugric language. As Proto-Ugric is not reconstructed, we show the etymologies using Proto-Finno-Ugric (or Proto-Uralic). Please indicate this by using {{inh|kca-nor|fiu-pro|(source word)}}. Proto-Khanty forms (also reconstructed) are added with the code kca-pro, e.g. {{inh|kca-nor|kca-pro|(source word)}}. As usual, the most recent ancestor goes first, so Proto-Khanty and then Proto-Finno-Ugric/Proto-Uralic.

The Uralonet[3] is useful for this purpose.

Lemmas and inflected forms[edit]
