Cognate with Bavarian Håndschuach, German Low German Handsch, Handschoh, Hansch, Luxembourgish Händsch, Dutch handschoen, Danish handske, Norwegian Bokmål hanske, Norwegian Nynorsk hanske, handske (obsolete), Swedish handske, Faroese handski, Icelandic hanski, hanzki (obsolete).
