  1. (finance) Of financial products such as bonds, savings accounts, pension schemes, etc., yielding returns that are calculated based on the level of a referenced financial index, such as a consumer price index, typically to keep pace with inflation.
    My pension is index-linked, so I'm protected against rising prices.
