Usage notes[edit]

This adverb can be used with an inflected verb to express to try (doing something) (to make an experiment) when the action itself poses no difficulty even if its effectiveness might not be ensured. On the other hand, the verb (meg)próbál is used when the action itself poses difficulty (to try, attempt to do something) though its result is not in question. (Meg)próbálkozik may occur in both senses.
