Catalan[edit]

Etymology[edit]

From rapina, and earlier form of rapinya. The change of n to ny is probably due to the influence of other verbs ending in -inyar and in turn influenced the form of the noun. Cognate with Spanish rapiñar, which underwent a similar change.

Pronunciation[edit]

Verb[edit]

rapinyar (first-person singular present rapinyo, first-person singular preterite rapinyí, past participle rapinyat)
