German[edit]

Alternative forms[edit]

Noun[edit]

vierzehn Tage pl (plural only)

  1. (archaic) a fortnight, fourteen days, two weeks

Usage notes[edit]

In traditional and dialectal use, this was a set phrase, and it was possible to speak of "eine vierzehn Tage" (a fortnight) or "drei vierzehn Tage" (three fortnights, or six weeks).[1][2] In current Standard German, these would be "zwei Wochen" and "sechs Wochen" respectively.
