      “‘[...] Aut cūr haec volnera cernō?’”
      “‘Otherwise what is the meaning of these wounds I see?’”
      (Aeneas dreams that he is speaking to the dead and badly disfigured Prince Hector; figuratively, Aeneas himself feels wounded by this tragic apparition.)
