Etymology[edit]

Sino-Korean word from 愛人, from (love) + (person). The Yanbian sense a semantic loan from Chinese 愛人爱人 (àirén).

  • Phonetic hangul: [(ː)/(ː)]
    • Though still prescribed in Standard Korean, most speakers in both Koreas no longer distinguish vowel length.
