[edit]Ultimately from German Schulter, through a Slavic (Polish szołdra (“traditional Silesian cuisine Easter bread filled with smoked meats”), Czech solda) or Hungarian (sódar (“gammon”)) intermediary, probably through the plural form șolduri.
