From σῴζω (sṓizō, save) +‎ πᾰτήρ (patḗr, father), literally “savior of the father.” Compare Σωσῐκρᾰ́της (Sōsikrátēs) / Σωκρᾰ́της (Sōkrátēs, Socrates), Σωσῐκλείδης (Sōsikleídēs) / Σωκλείδης (Sōkleídēs, Socleides).
