Etymology

Learned borrowing from Koine Greek ἀναψυκτήριον (anapsuktḗrion, recreational place), from the past stem ἀναψυκ- (anapsuk-) of ἀναψύχω (anapsúkhō, to cool, refresh) + -τήριον (-tḗrion), with semantic loan from German Εrfrischungsraum.[1]
