Etymology

Liddell and Scott propose Sanskrit दृषद् (dṛṣad) as a cognate. However, Pokorny argues for an origin from Proto-Indo-European *gʷerH-, citing Sanskrit गिरि (giri) as a cognate. Beekes argues for a Lua error in Module:parameters at line 331: Parameter 2 should be a valid language, etymology language or family code; the value "pregrc" is not valid. See WT:LOL, WT:LOL/E and WT:LOF. origin.
