φωλεός
Ancient Greek
Etymology
The formation is similar to γωλεός (gōleós), εἰλεός (eileós) and στελεός (steleós). Frisk connects the word with Old Norse ból (“layer, nest of animals”) but this theory is now rejected. Beekes suggests a Lua error in Module:parameters at line 95: Parameter 2 should be a valid language, etymology language or family code; the value "pregrc" is not valid. See WT:LOL, WT:LOL/E and WT:LOF. origin in view of the ending "-εος".
