Etymology[edit]

Inherited from Ancient Greek ὅλος (hólos, whole, entire, complete)[1], from Proto-Indo-European *solh₂wós from *solh₂- (whole). The adjective όλος (ólos, whole, all), also as pronoun when referring or replacing a noun.
