Immediately comparable to Tatar җәя (cäya, “bow”), Karachay-Balkar джая (caya, “bow”); further, compare with Old Uyghur [script needed] (ja, “bow”);[1] Kazakh жай (jai, “bow”), Uzbek yoy (“bow; bracket”), Turkmen ýaý (“bow”), Azerbaijani yay (“bow”), Turkish yay (“bow”); Kyrgyz жаа (jaa, “bow”), Southern Altai јаа (ǰaa, “bow”), Tuvan ча (ça, “bow”) Yakut саа (saa, “rifle”).
