[edit]From Proto-Permic *kɔ̇rt, from Proto-Uralic *kärtɜ, ultimately borrowed from an Iranian language, from Proto-Iranian [Term?]. Compare Persian کارد (kârd, “knife”). Cognates include Komi-Zyrian кӧрт (kört), Komi-Permyak кӧрт (kört) and Udmurt корт (kort).
