Etymology

From Old East Slavic плꙗсати (pljasati, to dance), from Proto-Slavic *plęsati (to dance). Gothic 𐍀𐌻𐌹𐌽𐍃𐌾𐌰𐌽 (plinsjan) is a borrowing from some Slavic language.
