Etymology
[edit]From Proto-Mordvinic *ťäšťə, from Proto-Finno-Permic [Finno-Volgaic] *täštä (“star”). Compare Moksha тяште (täšte), Finnish tähti, Livonian tēd, Kildin Sami та̄ссьт (tāss’t), Eastern Mari тиште (tište).
