Etymology 1

Plural of *ясно n (*jasno), inherited from Old Slovak jasno, from Proto-Slavic *dęsna. The shift of expected ďa-ja- is a regular Carpathian areal phenomenon; compare dialectal Slovak jasno, jasná, Carpathian Rusyn and Ukrainian я́сна (jásna). Cognate with Slovak ďasno.
