Etymology[edit]

The origin is uncertain. Perhaps from Old Armenian *ընդ-ունչ ‎(*ənd-unčʿ), from ընդ ‎(ənd) + ունչ ‎(unčʿ). On the other hand, compare Georgian ტუჩი ‎(ṭuči, lip) and დრუნჩი ‎(drunči, muzzle).
