Etymology
[edit]From onomatopoeic խռպ- (xṙp-) + -ոտ (-ot). The root is also found in Old Armenian խռպող (xṙpoł) and dialectal խռպել (xṙpel), խռպոզ (xṙpoz), խռպոն (xṙpon).
