Etymology 1

The basic meaning is “announcer”, from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Lua error in Module:parameters at line 290: Parameter 1 should be a valid language or etymology language code; the value "MIr." is not valid. See WT:LOL and WT:LOL/E. *nivēδāk, an agent noun from *ni-waid-, from *ni- (down) + *waid- (to know); see the latter for more. For the suffix see -ակ (-ak).
