[edit]Coined by Eliezer Ben-Yehuda. A combination of the Hebrew root רבב and Arabic مُرَبَّى (murabbā, “jam, marmalade”), رُبّ (rubb, “pulp”) and رَوْب (rawb, “stiffened milk”).
