Borrowed from Parthian 𐫀𐫍𐫀𐫡 (ʾhʾr /⁠āhār⁠/, food), ultimately from Sanskrit आहार (āhāra, food). Compare with Sogdian 𐼾𐽁𐼰𐼳𐼰𐽀𐼷𐼷 (pšʾhʾryy /⁠pašāhārē⁠/, post-food (lit.), dessert) and 𐼻𐼰𐼳𐼰𐽀 (nʾhʾr /⁠nāhār⁠/, un-food (lit.), hungry)
