From Middle Persian 𐭥𐭧𐭱𐭲𐭩 (wahišt); see there for more. Cognate with Northern Talysh وییشت (vaiišt) and Baluchi گْوَهِشت (gwahišt, heaven). Compare Gujarati વહિશ્ત (vahiśt).
