[edit]Inherited from Old Anatolian Turkish درنك (dernek, “gathering”), from Proto-Turkic *tērnek (“gathering”),[1] a development of *tēr- (“to collect, gather”), whence دیرمك (dermek, “to collect, gather”). Cognate with Karakhanid تِرْناكْ (tẹrnek).
