سِخَاب (siḵābm (plural سُخُب(suḵub))

  1. necklace of beads, gems or cloves
    • فَقَامَ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ يَمْشِي وَفِي عُنُقِهِ السِّخَابُ
      faqāma l-ḥasanu bnu ʿaliyyin yamšī wafī ʿunuqihi s-siḵābu
      So Al-Ḥasan bin ʿAliyy rose and began walking with a necklace of beads around his neck.
    • 7th century CE, Sunan Abī Dāwud, 2:770:
      فَجَعَلَت الْمَرْأَةُ تُلْقِي خُرْصَهَا وَسِخَابَهَا‏
      fajaʿalat al-marʾatu tulqī ḵurṣahā wasiḵābahā
      So the woman put her earring and her necklace on.
