[edit]Compound of صنعت (sanʼat, “art, trade, craft”) + كار (kâr, “work, job, occupation”). Compare Azerbaijani sənətkar, Northern Kurdish sinetkar, Uyghur سەنئەتكار (sen'etkar) and Uzbek san'atkor for similar formations.
