From غلغل (ğolğol, “cry, tumult”) +‎ ـستان (-estân, “-land”).

1. (poetic) place where everybody is crying or shouting

     به رستم چنین گفت کای سرگرای
     چرا تیز گشتی به پرده‌سرای
     سزد گر برین بوم زابلستان
     نهد دانشی نام غلغلستان

     ba rustam čunīn guft k-ay sar-girāy
     čirā tēz gaštī ba parda-sarāy
     sazad gar bar-īn būm-i zābulistān
     nihad dānišē nām-i ğulğulistān

     He spoke thus to Rustam: "You confused thing,
     Why are you getting angry at a tent?
     It would be fitting if a wise man
     Were to rename this land of Zābulistān to Crybabyland.
