Etymology[edit]

Inherited from Proto-Turkic *kurgsak (belly, stomach); cognate with Old Turkic 𐰴𐰆𐰺𐰆𐰍𐰽𐰴 (quruɣsaq), Azerbaijani qursaq, Karakhanid قُرُغْساقْ (quruɣsaq), Kyrgyz курсак (kursak) and Yakut куртах (kurtaq).
