Etymology[edit]

A compound of Persian گنج (ganj, treasure) + ليو (liyǖ, mud). Unrelated to كانج (kēnč, child).

Noun[edit]

كانْجْ لِيُو (kēnč liyǖ)

  1. a stand for the booty erected at the feasts and banquets of kings that looks like a minaret
