Passive participle of the verb رَشَّحَ (raššaḥa, to nominate).

مُرَشَّح (muraššaḥm (plural مُرَشَّحِين (muraššaḥīn))

  1. candidate (in an election)
    هُوَ ٱلْمُرَشَّحُ ٱلْخَاسِرُ فِي ٱلِٱنْتِخَابَاتِ ٱلرِّئَاسِيَّةِ ٱلْإِيرَانِيَّةِ.‏
    huwa l-muraššaḥu l-ḵāsiru fī l-intiḵābāti r-riʾāsiyyati l-ʾīrāniyyati.
    He is the losing candidate in the Iranian presidential election.
