Derived from the active participle of نَفَعَ(nafaʿa, to be useful, to benefit), from the root ن ف ع(n-f-ʿ).

نَافِع (nāfiʿ) (feminine نَافِعَة(nāfiʿa), masculine plural نَافِعُون(nāfiʿūn), feminine plural نَافِعَات(nāfiʿāt) or نَوَافِع(nawāfiʿ), elative أَنْفَع(ʾanfaʿ))
