[edit]Etymology
[edit]Inherited from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀙𑀓𑁆𑀓 (chakka) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀓- (-ka-), from Sanskrit षट्क (ṣáṭka), but influenced by Northwestern Indo-Aryan, for which compare Punjabi چھکا (chakkā) and the other playing card numbers. *chākā would be the expected reflex in Urdu. Cognate with Nepali छक्का (chakkā).
