Usage notes
[edit]- In colloquial speech, ܒܹܝܬ݂ ܢ̈ܝܼܣܵܢܹܐ (bēṯ nīsānē) predominates over ܪܒ݂ܝܼܥܵܐ (rḇīˁā) which is used mostly in formal settings, (as in e.g. * ܫܲܘܝܘܼܬ݂ܵܐ ܪܒ݂ܝܼܥܵܝܬܵܐ (šawyūṯā rḇīˁāytā, “vernal equinox”)) or poetic contexts. Some dialects may also use the Persian loan ܒܲܗܵܪ (bahhār).
