From Hebrew כּוּשׁ (kúsh), from Egyptian

(kꜣš); also attested in Akkadian 𒆳𒆪𒌑𒋢 (Kūsu) and Old Persian 𐎤𐎢𐏁𐎠𐎹 (ku-u-š-a-y /⁠Kušāya⁠/).
