Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘌𑘨𑘢𑘜𑘹 (orapaṇe), from Maharastri Prakrit 𑀑𑀭𑀁𑀧𑀺𑀅 (oraṃpia, past participle). Related to ओरबाडणे (orbāḍṇe).
