[edit]Inherited from Old Gujarati नांषिवउं (nāṃṣivaüṃ /nāṃkhivaüṃ/), from Sanskrit नङ्क्ष्यति (naṅkṣyati) (see नश्यति (náśyati)). Cognate with Gujarati નાખવું (nākhvũ), Malvi नाखणो (nākhṇo), Marwari नाखणौ (nākhṇau) / 𑅧𑅖𑅢𑅒 (nkhṇu), नांखणौ (nāṅkhṇau) / 𑅧𑅧𑅖𑅢𑅒 (nnkhṇu), Hindustani ناکْھنَا (nākhnā) / नाखना (nākhnā).
