[edit]Perhaps from Marwari बीस (bīs, “twenty”) + नऊ (naū, “nine”) + -ई (-ī, “relational suffix”), literally “of or relating to twenty and nine”. A derivation from विष्णु (viṣṇu, “Vishnu”) has been suggested as well.
