    Synonyms: মুখ্চা (mukhsa), দুহাইতা (duhaita)

Usage notes[edit]

  • Although গামোচা (gamüsa) literally means "body wiper", its usage in Assamese culture is not only like a towel but it's also a way of honoring. It's an important element of many festivals of Assam, including Bihu. Different communities have their own styles of gamosa. The most common one is white with red works.
