Borrowed from Classical Persian بیـ (bē-) + چاره (čāra). Compare Bengali বেচারা (becara), Hindustani بیچارہ / बेचारा (becārā), Punjabi ਵਿਚਾਰਾ (vicārā) / وِچارا (vicārā), Gujarati બિચારું (bicārũ), Marathi बिचारे (bicāre).
