[edit]A shortened form of போழ்து (pōḻtu, “time”), related to பொழுது (poḻutu). Cognate with Old Kannada ಪೊೞ್ತು (poḻtu), Malayalam -പ്പോൾ (-ppōḷ).

[edit]- This verb is highly defective, and normally only the non-finite and a few select forms, such as the third-person singular future போதும் (pōtum) and its negative போதாது (pōtātu), are used. Though these forms are grammatically in the future tense, they can be used in the present tense as well.
