Particularly: “Cognate with గుంపు (gumpu, group), Tamil குமி (kumi, to accumulate, crowd), Malayalam കുമി (kumi, heap, stack, pile), കുവിക (kuvika​, to be assembled), Kannada ಗುಮಿ (gumi, heap, crowd).[1] Also note similarities to Japanese 組む (kumu, to put together, intertwine) and (kumi, class, group); whether this is coincidence or remnants of an ancient Southern Eurasian substrate is unknown.”
