[edit]Borrowed from Old Khmer ពិឃាដ្ឋ (bighāṭṭha, “to kill; killing”); ultimately from Sanskrit विघात (vighāta, “destruction; obstruction; removal; etc”). Cognate with Modern Khmer ពិឃាដ (pikhiət).
