Particularly: “Not given etymology by STEDT (sañ "( nominative affix )"), though it seems to be identical to sañ "owner, proprietor", which STEDT links to Proto-Tibeto-Burman *sin (“body, owner, agentive nominalizer”). Said root is traditionally linked to Old Chinese 身 (OC *qʰjin, “body”), though more recent analyses cast this in doubt; see the Chinese for more.”
