Inherited from Proto-Tai *n.mɤːꟲ. Cognate with Thai เนื้อ (nʉ́ʉa), Northern Thai ᨶᩮᩬᩥ᩶ᩋ, Lao ເນຶ້ອ (nưa) or ເນື້ອ (nư̄a), ᦵᦓᦲᧉ (noe²), Khün ᨶᩮᩬᩨ᩶, Ahom 𑜃𑜢𑜤𑜈𑜫 (nüw), Bouyei noh, Zhuang noh, Nong Zhuang nowx or nwx, Saek หมร้อ.
